Meet the Maker

Welcome to Eclectic Spruce! I’m Kelley, and if you walked into my home studio, you’d find a trail of thread, fabric, and art supplies in almost every room—including the garage. I am a educator by day and a maker by night, and I live for the joy of creating art with my hands. From my tiny closet "sewing nook" - it's literally a closet - to my kitchen table, my art celebrates the beauty found in unexpected places.

Why "Eclectic Spruce"?

People often ask about the name. "Eclectic" represents the broad range of my artistic endeavors; I don't stick to just one medium or style. I love the challenge of experimenting with new textures and techniques. "Spruce" is a nod to my favorite tree. From the windows of my home studio, I have a clear view of the five massive spruce trees in my backyard. They are a constant source of inspiration for my color palettes and textures.

Handcrafted with Purpose

My work blends new and repurposed materials, breathing fresh life into things that might otherwise be forgotten. Whether it’s turning a pair of old blue jeans into a textile sculpture or giving "Grandma’s doilies" a modern twist, I love creating something uniquely beautiful from the discarded. Every piece—from my weighted rest pillows to my fabric bookmarks—was born in my Wisconsin studio from a love of color, texture, and a healthy dose of creative chaos.
